Come to the Sable Island 2017 Conference!
You’ll hear about management of this national park, visitor experiences, and its natural wonders including the Ipswich sparrows, bottlenose whales, and of course, horses. We’ll also talk history — archaeological surveys, shipwrecks, former residents and legends. You don’t want to miss out!
Who: The Friends of Sable Island Society, a nonprofit society dedicated to the preservation and protection of Sable Island, are hosts. Speakers include keynote Karen Prentice, MP Andy Fillmore, and more than a dozen scientists, historians, adventurers, and Parks Canada representatives. Click here for the Program at a Glance.
When: Friday, Oct. 20, 7–9 p.m. This portion is free. Saturday, Oct. 21, 8 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Cost is $60 which includes lunch.
Why: The conference is a chance to bring Sable Island to more people — to provide an opportunity to experience it without travelling there, and to educate and build a deeper awareness of what makes it such a special place.
How: Show your support for and interest in Sable Island today by attending! Bring a friend, make a friend and be informed and inspired.
