Descendent from merchant mariners and fishermen (rum runners), I was born in a fishing village in Newfoundland. I have spent most of my life near, on, or in the ocean.
My professional background is in technology, project management and organizational change management. I spent a decade on the Board of Directors for the Nova Scotia chapter of the Project Management Institute, and many decades as a volunteer within Sport Nova Scotia: as a master level technical official, organizing regional, provincial and national sport (swimming) competitions. Most recently I have been helping the Nova Scotia Nature Trust organize their annual fund raising gala.
I have always been fascinated by the mystique of Sable island and I am looking forward to an opportunity to help the Friends continue to conserve and protect this unique ecosystem.
