Have you ever wondered how there can be fresh water on a sandbar widely surrounded by salt water? This presentation covers Terry Hennigar’s experiences of this wild, magical, isolated island in the middle of the North Atlantic Ocean. He was sent there in the 1970s by the Nova Scotia Department of Mines to assess the fresh water resources of the Island. During his time there he became interested in this fascinating place that has found a special place in his heart. This assignment was special as well because he was able to include his family during the summer months.
About the presenter: Terry Hennigar, P.Eng., FCSCE, FEC., is a senior Engineer, specializing in Hydrogeology with over 50 years experience on Canadian and International groundwater resources.
